Our client faced a dilemma familiar to many in the educational sector: a legacy IT environment that was no longer fit for purpose. With declining performance and stability, the need for an overhaul was clear. Our approach was holistic and future-focused. We embarked on refreshing their virtual infrastructure across six regional hub sites. This involved a meticulous process of designing and implementing a replacement infrastructure, transitioning from HyperV to VMware.

An expectation of the project was the cross-hypervisor migration of all VMs with minimal disruption. The scope was vast: seamlessly convert 180 VMs across six sites, encompassing all domains, including  both staff (file servers, mail servers, management infrastructure) and student environments.
